Bobby Dodd Institute Partner, Looptworks, Among Honorees for this Year’s Breakfast with Champions

BDI honors the Portland-based upcycling company committed to powering the end of waste.

On Thursday, March 24, Bobby Dodd Institute (BDI) will honor Looptworks at its 2022 Breakfast with Champions. Close to 300 guests are expected to safely gather together to shine a light on this year’s Luminary of the Year recipients, each unique in their own right, but connected in their shared commitment of celebrating and advocating for people with disabilities.

“We’re proud to have nearly five years under our belt with Looptworks,” said Larry Gluth, President and CEO of Bobby Dodd Institute. “The company, similarly to BDI, has set out to make our world a better place. As a joined force, we’re able to elevate our world-work – for the environment and for all people.”

Looptworks is one of three Luminaries this year. The sustainable, eco-friendly organization began its relationship with BDI in 2018 to assist with the upcycling and repurposing of more than 350,000 pounds of Delta Airlines’ old uniforms. The partnership has since evolved, as BDI continues to help Looptworks fulfill its warehouse and distribution needs.

“We value having positive social impact partners like BDI integrated into our supply chain. It is important to us to use business as a force for good by helping people and other businesses in our community thrive. We are thankful for our long-standing partnership with BDI and humbled by their recognition of Looptworks,” said Scott Hamlin, Founder and CEO of Looptworks.

BDI is a change agent and leader in the call to empower and employ people with disabilities. In 2021, the organization served over 1,700 individuals with disabilities. The reach of the organization and the extension of its business services are made possible through partners like Looptworks, who are committed to not just fulfilling business needs but creating inclusive employment spaces for people with disabilities to work and thrive.
