Transitioning Out of High School. What’s Next for Students with Disabilities?

Transitioning into adulthood is daunting. This session will provide an overview and a checklist of key issues that need to be addressed, including determination of decision-making authority, application for Social Security benefits, application for Medicaid Waivers and other services-based resources. Special focus will be paid to long-term planning including supplemental needs trusts, utilizing supports for work through GVRA, and programs that can transition an individual into work.
